Speed field cultivators KPS-13 and KPS-13-1

The cultivator is designed for continuous preplant treatment of all types of mineral soils and cleaning of vapors from weeds, moisture closure, preplant breaking up of soil with cropping and combing of ofseed weeds. Spring preplant cultivation of the soil is carried out to destroy weeds and create a compacted bed for seeds. In one pass along the field the cultivator ensures complete soil preparation for sowing, combining cultivation, breaking up, leveling and preplant soil packing with the creation of a compacted layer for seeds in the seed layer.

In contrast to the plough, the cultivator performs a shallow breaking up of soil without turning the bed and without the removal of the lower layers to the surface, combined with cropping of weeds, which to a large extent reduces soil erosion and physical evaporation of soil moisture, which is particularly beneficial for areas with insufficient and unstable moisture.

 

The agrotechnical tasks of steam tillage consist of:

1. Soil cleanup from weeds, therefore, in the organization of crop rotation the most polluted areas are allocated for steam treatment;

2. Moisture accumulation in the soil that is easily accessible to plants, so the introduction of a steam field in crop rotation is especially important for arid regions;

3. Nutrient accumulation in the soil, which is formed as a result of humification and mineralization of organic residues, therefore, the introduction of barnyard manure, siderates and other organic fertilizers into the soil is obligatory in the system of steam treatment.

 

It is recommended that the first cultivation should be performed transversely to the direction of the main ploughing, and that each subsequent one should be perpendicular to the direction of the preceding.

The construction of the cultivator allows the processing with a working width of 13 m.

The cultivator has an individually-driven system of sections of working elements with a two-row arrangement of center hoes and a three-row arrangement of cultivator teeth with a vibrational nature of work, resulting in automatic cleaning of the working elements.

 

The cultivator is available in two versions:

- Cultivator КПС-13 with cultivator teeth, designed only for breaking up of soil (combs the roots of the weed, leaving it on the surface);

 

- Cultivator КПС-13-1 with universal center hoes (prunes weed roots).

The main working elements of the cultivator are the stands with the sweeps:  

 1) spring stand with arrowhead cultivator teeth with a working width of 45 - 55 mm; 

or

2) rigid stand with a universal center hoe (the crushing angle is 250-300) with a working width of 270 mm.

The placement of the sweeps on the cultivator frame is carried out on the basis of the condition of preventing the cultivator from blocking with plant residues.

The cultivator teeth are arranged at 170 mm intervals in three rows. The distance between the rows is 350 mm.

The arrowhead teeth are arranged at 255 mm intervals in two rows. The distance between the rows is 700 mm.

Sprung-mounted coverers are used for leveling the surface of the field and creating a fine-grained upper layer of soil.

At the request of the customer, the cultivator can be equipped with toothed harrows (a device for attaching a chain-slatted toothed harrows with a rhombic-sectioned tooth that reduces the tractive resistance in comparison with a square-sectioned tooth) or packing wheels (wheel attachment КПС-13.25.00.000, consisting of five packing wheels sections)

Depth of tillage from 6 to 14 cm.

Adjustment of the tillage depth of the side sections is carried out by means of support wheels. The running depth of the working elements is changed by moving the wheels with respect to the frames. When moving the wheels up the running depth of the working elements increases, while moving down - decreases. Adjustment of the tillage depth of the central section is carried out by running wheels.

The cultivator is equipped with beams of three types: short, long and bypass.

The short beam has a hinged individual-driver connection to the frame, in which each sweep, which is attached to a separate leash-beam, replicates the field relief independently of other beams.

 

The long beam has a hinged sectional-driver connection to the frame, when several sweeps are attached to one beam. Two sweeps are fastened on a long beam.

The bypass beam has a hinged sectional frame connection to the frame. Four sweeps are fastened on a bypass beam.

The beams are hanged on the push rods at the rear cross-sill. A spring, supported from below by a figure plunger pin, is fitted on each push rod.

By adjusting the plunger on the holes in the rod, the force of spring pressing on the beam is regulated. The beams have a vibrational nature of the work, as a result of which the automatic cleaning of the working elements takes place.

 

The teeth perform the harrowing function, which ensures better soil cultivation: cutting of lumps, leveling the field, creating a fine-grained upper soil layer, combing weeds and plant residues.

 

The hydraulic system of the cultivator is intended for transferring the cultivator from the transport position to the working position and vice versa.

The cultivator has two stages of folding: the first stage of folding - with the help of hydraulic cylinders all the frames rise to the vertical position, the second stage of folding - with the help of hydraulic cylinders the side frames are folded in a horizontal plane. When unfolding - vice versa.

 

The cultivator is aggregated with the tractors of drawbar category 5 (the force exerted rating is 5 tons), equipped with a drawbar hitch ТСУ-3B and a separate hydraulic system with two terminals.
